Dermatology in a Week

“Dermatology in a Week” is the result of my own experience as a student preparing for PG medical entrance exams and later as a resident in dermatology interacting with PG aspirants. This book is an attempt to fill a singular void between the voluminous textbooks and unreliable answers provided in commonly available guides by providing predigested text, multiple choice questions representative of pattern of various PG medical entrance examinations and their detailed and authoritative explanations in one volume that can be mastered in days. The text has been selected after analyzing last 20 years of questions asked in different PG entrance exams. The book is unique in its presentation where the most commonly tested items have been presented in a lucid and organized manner. The entire curriculum is covered in seven modules. Each module is followed by typical MCQs and their detailed explanations. There is always a dearth of time for medical students and hence each module is designed to be covered in 3-6 hours time and the entire subject in a week hence the name: “Dermatology in a week.” Another salient feature of the book is loads of memory booster tips that highlight the most significant points and make their memorizing easy and entertaining. These memory boosters will enhance the long-term memory and hence better performance in exams. The book can also be used by medical students who want to learn dermatology in a short time. The learning questions include both typical questions asked in exams as well as some questions that enhance the learning of subject. The explanations are complete and have been written to understand not only the correct choice but also why it is so. All the answers are authentic and have been repeatedly checked with relevant references in standard textbooks as well as journals. The best way to do this book is by going through the module followed by learning questions. However, someone really has short of time may benefit immensely by going through the questions and their explanations alone. Repeated off-hand brushing the memory boosters is recommended and the students are encouraged to make their own memory boosters.
